Looking for a list of Bonfire Night and Firework Events that are taking place in and around the Yorkshire Dales this year?

Here you’ll find all the fireworks displays, bonfires, and silent events both free and ticketed that are on offer across the Yorkshire Dales National Park and its bordering towns.

Gunpowder, treason and plot… It’s BONFIRE TIME!

That’s right, it’s the time of year when us Brits all channel our inner Prodigy vibes and turn into a twisted firestarter…. setting everything on FIIIIIIRE to remember the time when a moustachioed dude nearly (but didn’t) blow up the houses of Parliament!

It’s BONFIRE NIGHT BABY! (N.B. to non-Brits: we don’t actually set EVERYTHING on fire, just huge piles of discarded stuff, with the effigy of a man placed on the top…. see? We’re not THAT crazy.)

Anyway, slightly creepy British traditions aside, here you’ll find a list of all of the organised firework displays taking place in any around the Yorkshire Dales, both ticketed and free! So you’ll find firework events from Sedbergh to Reeth and from Richmond to Ilkley! All right here!

Free Bonfire Night Events 2025

Check out all of the bonfire and firework events that are taking place in and around the Yorkshire Dales that are turn up on the night and free (with donations welcome).

Yorkshire Dales Bonfires and Fireworks 2025: Swaledale, Wensleydale and Richmond

Saturday 1st November 2025

West Burton Bonfire: Wensleydale

West Burton is a free event, but donations are welcome. BBQ and drinks at the Fox and Hounds Pub

Location: West Burton Village Green

Bonfire Lit: 6.30pm

Fireworks 7.15pm

Bedale Community Fireworks

Donations are welcome and fundraising is already underway for the 2025 event. In a change from 2024, there will be no bonfire due to the increase in popularity of the event. The theme this year will be commemorating the end of the Second World War.

Location: Bedale Hall & Park

Entertainment between 6-7pm

Fireworks 7.15pm

Sunday 2nd November 2025

Upper Dales Bonfire & Fireworks - Hawes, Wensleydale

Hawes bonfire is a free event, a suggested donation of £3 is welcome.

Location: Hawes Community Field (Dales Countryside Museum)

Gates open at 6pm.

Bonfire Lit: 6.45pm (timings taken from 2024 - 2025 timings not yet confirmed)

Wednesday 5th November 2025

Richmond: North Yorkshire

Richmond’s bonfire is organised by Richmond Town Council and is sponsored by the Fleece Hotel in Richmond. Free with a suggested donation of £1.

Location: Richmond School

Gates: 6pm

Fireworks: 7pm

Reeth Bonfire: Swaledale

Reeth bonfire is a free event. Donations are welcome. BBQ throughout the night.

Location: Reeth Village Green

Judging of the Guy 6pm

Bonfire Lit: 6.30pm

Fireworks 7pm

Leyburn: Wensleydale

Leyburn’s bonfire night is a free event, but donations are welcome.

Location: The Shawl

Bonfire: 6.30pm

Fireworks: 7pm

Saturday 8th November 2025

West Witton Bonfire: Wensleydale

West Witton bonfire is a free event, but donations are welcome. Hot food and a licensed bar will be available from 6pm.

Location: West Witton Playing Fields

Gates: 6pm -10pm

Bonfire: 6.30pm

Fireworks: 7pm

Yorkshire Dales South Bonfires and Fireworks 2025: Ilkley, Addingham, Skipton, Otley

Friday 7th November 2025

Ilkley Cricket Club

This free event is hosted by the Cricket Club. Food and drink is available, entry is from 5pm, bar opens at 5pm, with pie and peas from 6pm.

Location: Ilkley Cricket Club 5pm - 10.30

Bonfire 6.45pm

Fireworks: 7.30pm

Yorkshire Dales West Bonfires and Fireworks 2025: Westmorland Dales

Tuesday 5th November 2024

Sedbergh School Fireworks

Location: Busk Lane, between School House and Sedgwick House

Bonfire Lit: 6.30pm

Fireworks from 7pm

Yorkshire Dales: Nidderdale and Harrogate

Harrogate, Nidderdale and Yorkshire Dales East

Saturday 2nd November 2024:

Harrogate Bonfire:

Annual Stray fireworks event will include a bonfire. Entry is free, but a collection will be taken proceeds will be going to St Michael’s Hospice. There will be live music and food and drinks.

Location: The Stray along Oaklands Drive

Start time: 5pm

Fireworks: 7.15pm

Pateley Bridge:

Arranged by the Upper Nidderdale Scouts Group, the bonfire is free, although donations are welcome. Food and drinks available.

Location: Pateley Bridge Showground

Start Time: 6pm

Bonfire lit: 6.30pm

Fireworks: 7pm

Ticketed Bonfire Night Events

All of these Bonfire Night events require tickets or payment on the gate. A lot are community fundraising events.
