Easter Egg Hunts and Trails in and around the Yorkshire Dales

There are SO many opportunities to hunt down a cheeky Easter Egg this Easter or take part in a family friendly trail.

So below, you’ll find all the of the egg hunts and Easter trails in and around the Yorkshire Dales, ranging from all singing and dancing events, to community trails.

Bolton Abbey Easter Trail

What Date: 21 March -9 April 2026

How much: £15 per car (£12.50 if booked in advance) the trail is included in the usual admission charges.

Where? Bolton Abbey Estate, North Yorkshire

What’s going on? The trail heads through the Strid Woods from the Riverside Car Park and you will get the opportunity to complete a trail sheet.

Harlow Carr Easter Bunny Trail

What Dates? 28 March -19 April 2026

How Much? Prices begin from £15.85 for adults and £7.95 for children RHS members are free.

Where? Harrogate

What’s Going on?

Help the Easter Bunny through the grounds of Harlow Carr, by becoming a detective! When you’ve cracked the clues, you’ll get a chocolate treat yourself! There’s also the Wind in the Willows trail too (until December 2026).

Bolton Castle Easter Trail

What Dates? 28 March -5 April 2026

How Much? Adults £15 Children £12.50 Family Ticket £60 (trail included in admission)

Where? Near Leyburn North Yorkshire.

What’s Going on?

Join in with the Easter hunt at Bolton Castle. This year, the Easter Bunny has left his carrots around the gardens! Track them down to win a prize! Booking is advised so head to the Bolton Castle Website.

Ingleton Easter Egg Hunt

What Dates? 18 April - 1 May 2025

How Much? £2/ sheet

Where? Ingleton, North Yorkshire.

What’s Going on?

Between 9am and 4pm, pick up your trail sheet from Seasons Bakery and follow the map to unscramble the letters! Why not tie it in with a trip to the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail or to White Scar Cave?

What Dates? 28 March - 12 April 2026

How Much? Parking charges for non-National Trust members. No booking required.

Where? Brimham Rocks, near Pateley Bridge, Nidderdale

What’s Going on? A change from the usual Easter Egg hunt, this year Brimham Rocks invites you to create a journey stick whilst wandering around the fabulous rock formations (the nearest egg hunt is at Fountains Abbey if you’re looking for an NT Easter Egg hit!)

Kilnsey Pony Trekking Easter Egg Hunt

What Dates? 2 - 5 April 2026

What’s Going on?

Fancy an Easter Egg hunt on horseback? These treks will help you find Easter surprises hidden by the Easter Bunny! Booking information is on Kilnsey Pony Trekking website.

Great Knaresborough Bunny Hunt

What Dates? 28th March - 12 April 2026

How Much? £4 per trail sheet

Where? Trail sheets available from Painting Pots in Knaresborough or the pop up shop in the town centre.

What’s Going on?

What’s Going on?

Pick up a clue sheet and then explore and discover large willow nests, eggs, golden rabbits and the famous Studfold Spring Fairies! Booking is essential and is available through the Studfold website.

Thorp Perrow Easter Fun

What Dates? 28th March - 12th April 2026

How Much? Standard entry plus £3 per trail sheet. (Pre booking will secure a discount)

What’s Going on?

You need to collect clues around this Beatrix Potter themed trail for your chance to win a prize!

Fountains Abbey Easter Egg Hunt

What Dates? 28 March - 12 April 2026

How Much?Free for National Trust members. Prices start from Adult: £18 Child: £9 Family discounts are available. Trail sheets are £3.50. No booking is required.

Where? Near Ripon, North Yorkshire

What’s Going on?

The Easter Trail heads around the abbey ruins where you’ll find nature inspired activities for all. The price includes a trail map, pencil and a chocolate egg at the end.

Of course, there’s also the epic adventure playground too! (Pictured)

Where? Nell Bank Outdoor Education Centre, Ilkley

What’s Going on?

Head over to Nell Bank for an Easter Egg Hunt with lots of nature activities to enjoy, as well as their adventure playground, toddler trail and water play area. Tickets can be booked through the Nell Bank Website.

These places are all open to explore over Easter

Skipton Castle:Open for self guided tours, you can head around the remarkably preserved castle, and then take a stroll through the Woodland Trust owned Skipton Castle woods! Book your tickets on the Skipton Castle website.

Nidderdale Llamas: take a wander with a llama! Suitable from ages 7 plus, why not check out the Nidderdale Llamas website for more details?

Kilnsey Fish Farm: Kilnsey Fish Farm’s family pool is reopening for the year and has nature trails and animals to feed. Check out more on the Kilnsey Park website.
